Helping ex-prisoners rebuild their lives

For most prisoners, things get harder starting the day they are released. New Foundations can be there to help them make a fresh start.

Before and After: one man’s experience

Jamie Glasspool was first sent to prison at the age of 16 and has spent 30 years of his life in and out of jail. He battled drug addiction before he was released in 2020 after serving a sentence for supplying Class A drugs. The ITN channel for southeast England did an Evening News report on what happened because of his referral to a New Foundations volunteer.

“I think I’m on the right path now”

I was in a difficult situation a few months after my release. My mentor provided the sort of impartial advice I needed, as well as practical support. I was feeling very low and he helped me through it. I think I’m on the right path now.
